createing your paint scheme

The design process is fairly straight forward. The steps that are needed are detailed below.

First of all, I need to know what your aircraft is and a general idea of what you want it to look like. The aircraft designs I have available are very accurate. If I do not have a layout available in my library, I can easily draw your aircraft to scale with the information available from detailed photos and your pilots operating handbook.

Next, I will need to know what colors you want to go with. Color choice can be made with specific pantone specified colors, or actual paint chips. If you have colors picked out, I will need to see them to make layout decisions and accurate representations for the colors of your aircraft. This is not required, though it does make for an easier decision making process.

Once these steps are done, I will make some layouts of your aircraft with a wide range of designs, if needed, and with color choices if none were originally made. These images will then be posted on a webpage for you to look at and print on your own printer.

Normally, I will design 4 to 8 layouts initially and then post them for you on your own website for review. Revisions will be made based on what you want to change, including design and or color variations. Depending on the service that you purchased, revisions will go through either 2 rounds or as needed until final layout approval. A single final layout will be made for your review.

Upon final agreement of layout, I will make a very large scale image for your to save and print on your computer. This image will also be provided as a PDF file that you can print out on your own computer and will be 11"x17", but can be scaled down to fit your printer.

I will also provide 3 of 11" x 17" full color layouts for you and your painter. Additional images can be purchased for print. If you wish, at this time I can also print posters up to 4' tall by whatever length on our wide format printer.

We can provide color samples for your painter to follow, or you may pick your own. We can also provide the paint service for you and paint your aircraft in Campbell River. Quotations may be asked for this service, but we are size limited at the present time.

Also, I can provide paint masking, die cut to provide the shape of the lettering, logo and striping at additional cost. This striping paint mask works extremely well on flat surfaces like rudders, fuselage and wing surfaces, but are not designed for nacelles, engine covers, and tip tanks, unless the design lends itself well to it. This masking can be shipped directly to your painter.
